I had a bike accident on the 3rd of December 2023.It resulted in in a terrible fracture .It was so painful that I just collapsed.Fortunately I was taken to NESCOM hospital emergency because my husband works in NESCOM.At that moment I was conscious.
In the emergency I was taken to X Ray room. Then my first aid began. An old man whose name I could not recall (maybe Mr.AD)gave me plaster treatment which was so perfect that my horrible pain started disappearing .The lady doctor in the emergency wearing glasses gently bandaged my head wounds. They advised me to visit orthopedic section the next day to get the expert advice. When I got home I felt that I was much better. Some people said I had taken all the treatment. So the next day I did not go but sent my husband with all the X Rays.Dr.Danish the orthopedic surgeon checked the X-RAYS and explained my husband that the fractured bone will recover in few months but a surgery will combine the fracture in few days and is a must .
So he wrote on my priscption slip to be admitted on Thursday for pre anesthesia procedure and Saturday was the day of surgery. My husband came home and as I was feeling no pain I got confused about the surgery. Most the people said that the treatment was enough and there was no need to proceed further. My husband called on a friend who had a similar accident two months ago ,to ask for the wheel chair he had used .The friend instantly inquired about the surgery. My husband described that as the condition was stable my waif is saying plaster is enough .He explained every thing that NESCOM hospital did in his recovery and insisted on blindly acting upon what ever Dr.Danish says .So we became double minded. On Thursday we decided to follow the priscption and I was admitted in the orthopedic surgery ward.Dr.Reeba attanded me in the ward .
.I asked about the surgery. She explained me the advantages of the procedure. She encouraged me to be firm about the surgery. So I made up my mind and had a surgery on Saturday. It was a very painful procedure. So many people were involved.I found all of them master of their trade .After the surgery the pain was immense but nurses and doctors took really good care of me .Next day Dr.Danish came and checked my leg .I was surprised to see how he moved it to check the result of the process. He ordered his staff to call on physio therapy department and make me walk.It sounded horrible as I was in real pain .Next day the moment came .The physio therapy started .They made me stand .That was the time I understood the importance of the surgery.Rest is the happy ending .In the past if you fractured your leg ,it could take at least three or four months before you could walk and that too "may be".
It was very unfortunate that I had an accident but in the end I thank God that I ended up in NESCOM hospital.I am taking few steps everyday and thanking every single person from the old man in the emergency to Dr.Danish and Dr.Reeba, the nurses and the whole staff who helped me every step of the way.
On my day of discharge I was even more impressed by the expertise of orthopedic surgeon. He performed three operations and
I witnessed how Dr.Danish and his staff worked with normal facilities and few people .Every surgery needs to be successful but how they are making it happen is only God's miracle.I personally saw Dr.Reeba entering the hospital at 8:45a.m.and after one operation to an other ,she was completely exhausted by 4:00p.m.Her composure and behavior had no change at all.
So if you live in Rawalpindi or Islamabad and are in need with some orthopedic consultancy my fair advice would be come in this hospital and you would be in safe hands. The professional approach of the doctors is amazing .I only saw one bad thing that today this department is overburdened as traffic problems are generating more and more accidents.
This is my experience of NESCOM hospital. It was my first time to go to a govt.hospital and really good one but resources of the hospital are much less than the patients to cure.
Another factor I noticed was attendants of the patients. Some came from really backward or rural areas. They I found to misuse the already scarce facilities of the hospital.Staff is overburdened and less in numbers.Today you may feel to be in an average govt.hospital because of the less educated people who come with the patients and are not in control of any body .The wards especially surgery ward must have strict decipline because patients there are in real pain .There should be peace and quiet.
My whole terrifying experience of accident taught me just one lesson and that is if a doctor is a real healer no amount of money can pay him for his service and doctors and nurses are the noblest humans choosen to perform God's work.

Good hospitals should always be promoted because there a great level of dishonesty in medical profession today.Good article
